This Thursday morning (2) was marked by the integration of new residents of the multidisciplinary health area at the Hospital Metropolitano Dom José Maria Pires, belonging to the state health network and managed by the Fundação Paraibana de Gestão em Saúde (PB Saúde). They will work in the Cardiological Intensive Care Unit, Intermediate Care Unit and Clinical Pharmacy.

Eight residents were integrated into the hospital unit who are part of the Multidisciplinary Postgraduate program with an emphasis on adult and elderly health in cardiovascular care at the Faculdade de Medicina Nova Esperança (Famene). The new residents will be at Hospital Metropolitano throughout the month of May with the aim of exchanging knowledge, contributing to assistance and scientific production in the areas of nursing, pharmacy and physiotherapy.

According to the coordinator of the Permanent Health Education Center at the Metropolitan Hospital (Neps), Elizanete Melo, the partnership with Higher Education Institutions is very important, mainly for strengthening Neps, in which they also contribute to training and updating of the teams. She reported that this year Metropolitano has already received 17 multidisciplinary residents.

The expectations of resident nurse Isabel Luiza are the best possible, since “Metropolitano is a major reference hospital here in Paraíba. So we really hope to be able to contribute and also learn. Because we saw that it has great resources and an indescribable structure. Today is the first day and we have already learned several new things. It’s been very beneficial and we have a month ahead of us to learn even more”, declared Isabel.

Pharmacist Natânia Severo, on the other hand, sees the Metropolitan Hospital as an opportunity to contribute in various sectors and as it is a state reference in cardiology and neurology, expectations are quite high, mainly due to the competence of the professionals who will help her to further improve her knowledge. .

Also present at the integration were the manager of Permanent Education at Hospital Metropolitano, Mário Toscano, and Yuri Martins, coordinator of Permanent Education in Health at PB Saúde.
