The Public Ministry of Alagoas, MP for Accounts and the State Court of Auditors signed this Tuesday (30) a technical note with general guidelines regarding public contracts related to the June festivities. The proposal is for managers to feed an information system with data on spending to ensure the transparency of public accounts.

According to the Attorney General of Justice, Lean Araújo, the focus of this technical note is on June festivities, but the idea is that, in the future, the initiative will include major public events in general. He also highlighted that, by acting preventively, MP/AL, MPC and TC/AL can look after public assets more effectively.

“The information to be made available on the portal will allow municipalities to predict the costs of hiring for events. It is necessary to be aware that the three institutions care for public assets, which is why we welcome the implementation of this culture of preventive action. I believe everyone will be satisfied”, stated the head of MP/AL.

Transparency

The president of TC/AL, president Fernando Toledo, informed that there is a provision for a Transparency Seal for municipalities that adhere to the technical note. According to the manager, the Association of Municipalities of Alagoas (AMA) has already expressed interest in participating in the initiative. In the coming days, the Court will contact the State of Alagoas and municipalities that are not part of the AMA to address the matter.

“We are bringing in other municipal managers, such as the mayors of Maceió, Arapiraca and Maragogi, who are not part of the Association of Municipalities of Alagoas. We will also contact the governor of Alagoas as he also promotes festivities. Remembering that the intention is not to prevent the festivities from taking place. We are, in fact, helping managers so that they can hold celebrations at reasonable costs”, he concluded.

In addition to the heads of MPAL and TC/AL, the note was also signed by the attorney general of the MPC, Enio Pimenta, and the prosecutor José Carlos Castro, coordinator of the Center for the Defense of Public Heritage of the MP/AL.
