According to data from the Mato-Grossense Institute of Agricultural Economics (Imea), in Mato Grosso, the price of available cottonseed registered a drop of 0.68% compared to the previous week, reaching R$667.35 per ton . This decrease was mainly attributed to the weak demand for the product in the state, in addition to the price disparity between sellers and buyers, which contributed to the reduction scenario.
On the other hand, the movement in the price of cotton oil presented an opposite scenario, with an increase of 0.17% compared to the previous week, reaching the value of R$3,782.86 per ton. This increase was driven by greater demand for oil in the state, a result of increased demand from the biodiesel industries.
However, it is important to highlight that, despite the weekly increase, the price of available cottonseed oil is still 17.54% lower than that recorded in the same period last year.
Finally, with the expectation of a greater supply of cotton in the 2023/24 harvest and the approaching harvest, in the short term, there are no factors that indicate a significant increase in the prices of by-products in the state.
