The president of the Senate, Rodrigo Pacheco (PSD-MG), canceled a lunch that was scheduled for this Tuesday with leaders of the government and governing parties, ministers from the Lula administration and senators from parties from the base allied with the Palácio do Planalto. The information was confirmed by the government leader in the Senate, Jaques Wagner (PT-BA), who said he had received a message from Pacheco canceling the appointment.
According to the Senate presidency, the lunch was being organized by the government leader in Congress, Randolfe Rodrigues (no party-AP), to discuss the political scenario in the House. The Minister of Institutional Relations, Alexandre Padilha, would also participate in the meeting. The Minister of the Civil House, Rui Costa, could also be present.
Despite Pacheco’s dissatisfaction with the government’s stance on judicializing the exemption from the payroll of companies and small municipalities, the cancellation of the commitment was due to the absence of some senators in Brasília, according to the Senate presidency. The lunch would be held at the official residence of the Senate.
Even so, government leaders in the Senate and Congress must meet with Padilha and technical advisors this Tuesday, 30th, at 3 pm, to discuss the bill that changes the fiscal framework and the imbroglio involving presidential vetoes, which must be considered next week in a session of both legislative Houses.
