Action consisted of technical support from the Aproximação Suas project, offered to managers and technicians from 56 municipalities

On April 25th and 26th, the State Secretariat for Social Development of Minas Gerais (Sedese-MG) promoted the first action of the 2nd cycle of the Percursos Gerais: Trajectory to Autonomy in Montes Claros program. This is the technical support event for the Aproximação Suas project, offered to managers and technicians from the 56 municipalities selected to participate in the Program. On May 7th, the official launch of the 2nd cycle will be held in a ceremony in the same municipality.

The Aproximação Suas Project is the gateway to Percursos Gerais and aims to strengthen municipal Social Assistance teams, especially the Social Assistance Reference Centers (CRAS) and the Family Protection and Comprehensive Assistance Service (PAIF) . The project is responsible for interlocution with other initiatives within the scope of the General Routes Program.

On the first day of the event, participants had the opportunity to receive information about the results of the 1st cycle of the program, as well as learn about the projects to be carried out and the family’s journey.

The undersecretary of social assistance, Mariana Franco, spoke about the challenges and advances related to social assistance management. “We have the challenge of promoting the development of the communities covered, and to this end, family support within the context of Percursos Gerais is extremely important.”

On the second day, participants received important guidance on social assistance surveillance and the Single Registry.

The event took place at the Municipal Chamber of Montes Claros, and involved the mobilization of the Sedese Regional Directorates of Almenara, Araçuaí, Montes Claros and Salinas, being a valuable opportunity to strengthen the partnership between Sedese and the participating municipalities, strengthening ties and promoting greater integration between the state and municipal spheres in the development and execution of the strategic program.

1st cycle General Routes

The General Routes Program: Trajectory for Autonomy uses as a strategy the articulation of state and municipal initiatives, aiming at the protagonism and social promotion of rural families who are in a situation of poverty, observing their individual needs and abilities.

In the 1st cycle (2019-2024), around 48 thousand people benefited, with social assistance actions, food and nutritional security, sports, qualifications and socio-productive inclusion. In addition to direct assistance to people, more than R$ 17,000,000.00 (seventeen million reais) were transferred to municipalities to develop actions to strengthen the social assistance network and sports practices for children, adolescents and elderly people.
