O Bahia Wine Showconsolidated as the largest and most diverse wine event in the Northeast, will begin its 10th edition this Friday (03), at Hotel Vila Galé Salvadorin Ondine. Connoisseurs will be able to taste and purchase wines at distributor prices at the fair which, this year, will have more than 150 labels available. The practice of pairing is also guaranteed with access to cheese and bread tables. In this edition, there will be ten more exhibitors including importers, distributors and producers who are sure that authentic flavors from Bahia and the world will be present.

Another moment awaited by the Bahian public are the lectures offered by the event, organized by Bahia Gourmet Club. On the opening day, Friday, the highlight is the conference with the prestigious winemaker Marcelo Petroli, who will look back on the challenges and successes throughout his tenure at the award-winning UVVA winery.

Marcelo Petroli

Under the topic ‘Chapada Diamantina: The New Terroir of Brazil’Petroli details that the mastery of technology and the technical refinement of the double pruning system for vineyard management make Bahia’s terroir promising. “We have two production centers here, one in the north of the state and the other in Chapada, so they are very different wines, bringing a complexity of flavors, which, of course, boosts Bahia as very promising in wine production, exactly because of this diversity”.

Aware of the growing and consistent public interest in the area, the winemaker invites all those passionate about the drink to improve their knowledge in the area through theoretical and practical study, as in his lecture. “We want to demystify that wine is for the few. Today, it is now possible to do wine tourism in Bahia. At UVVA, for example, we have a team of exclusive winemakers to provide service and those who visit us leave with a fantastic experience in terms of knowledge of the terroir and wine tastings”.

Bahia Vinho Show will be held at Hotel Vila Galé Salvador

On Saturday (04), the lecture will be held ‘Wines around the world’ is the responsibility of the Sommelier Jaime D’Oliveira. On this occasion, he will address the main countries, local regions and main emblematic and indigenous grapes (varieties) and wines around the world. Tickets for the Bahia Vinho Show can now be purchased through Ticketmax. The age classification of the event is for people over 18 years old.
