Around 20 kilos of Vivianita were seized by the Amazonas Military Police (PMAM), inside cardboard boxes, on a vessel, near Barcelos (399 kilometers from Manaus). The seizure was carried out by teams from the Arpão 2 River Base, during the implementation of the Safer Border operation, by the State Secretariat for Security (SSP-AM).

Last Friday night (26/04), military police carried out a routine inspection of the vessel Vencedor IX, which had left Barcelos and was destined for the city of Manaus. During the procedure, the teams found two cardboard boxes in the luggage area.

Upon inspecting the suspicious packaging, the police identified 14 Vivianite stones, of various sizes. After weighing procedure, 19,545kg of mineral were identified.

All the mineral was seized and taken to the Civil Police (PC-AM), which is part of the Base. The teams have already identified that the orders would be delivered to an unidentified person in Manaus.

Investigations will continue to seek to identify those responsible for shipping the mineral valued at around R$20,000.
