Vivianite stones valued at R$20,000 are seized on a boat in the Amazon

Manaus/AM – The police seized approximately 20 kg of an ore known as Vivianite, valued at R$20 thousand. The material, considered rare, was found among the luggage of the boat Vencedor IX, which had left Barcelos bound for Manaus.

The seizure was carried out last Friday night (26), by teams from the Arpão 2 River Base, during patrolling near Coari. The 14 Vivianita stones were inside two cardboard boxes.

After weighing procedure, 19,545kg of mineral were identified. All material was seized and taken to the Civil Police (PC-AM), which is part of the Base. The teams have already identified that the orders would be delivered to an unidentified person in Manaus.

Investigations will continue to seek to identify those responsible for shipping the mineral.
