Three men died and a military police officer was injured after an exchange of gunfire on Saturday (27), in the city of Simões Filho, in the Salvador Metropolitan Region.
According to the Military Police, teams from the 22nd Independent Company (CIPM) were called to investigate a complaint that armed men were selling drugs on Rua A, in the Simões Filho 1 neighborhood.
According to the PM, the military was making rounds to identify the men, when they saw a suspicious group and a confrontation ensued. A police officer was hit in the right thigh, was rescued and taken to a health unit, where he received treatment and is not at risk of death..
The Military Police reported that officers continued their patrols in the region where the confrontation took place and found three men who had been shot. They were rescued and taken to Ernesto Simões Filho Hospital, where they succumbed to their injuries.
In a statement, the Civil Police reported that the suspects were identified as: Italo André Maia de Jesus It is Emerson Bezerra da Rochaboth 24 years old, in addition to Giovane Santiago dos Santos, known as “Cinnamon”which was in the “Crime Deck” of the Public Security Secretariat of Bahia (SSP-BA), in 2021.
