To bring a better quality of life to the population in the rural areas of the municipalities of Mato Grosso, the State Government signed agreements with six city halls to pave municipal or local highways. These are roads that are not part of the state or federal road network, but are important because they connect distant points within municipal territories.

The investment via the State Secretariat for Infrastructure and Logistics (Sinfra-MT) will be R$96.3 million, with R$37.1 million transferred by the State. Some roads also have the support of local associations.

The mayor of Água Boa, Mariano Kolankiewicz Filho, explained the importance of these roads for the municipalities.

“Água Boa has around 2,500 kilometers of unpaved roads. We are an agribusiness city, which every year has been planting and developing more. So, these roads will meet all of our logistics,” he said.

Two agreements were signed in the municipality, totaling R$25.7 million. Sinfra will transfer R$9.5 million to asphalt 19 kilometers of the AB-100 highway and another R$1.8 million for 3.6 km of the AB-154.

“So, this partnership between the Government and the Municipality of Água Boa and rural producers for the construction of roads will help to increasingly develop the municipalities and our State”, added Mayor Mariano.

Governor Mauro Mendes recalled the importance of these works.

“These are municipalities that have already had the good fortune of overcoming the challenge of laying asphalt in the urban area and are now beginning to take this benefit to the rural area, because tens, hundreds and thousands of people from Mato Grosso also live there who also need quality of life in the coming and going every day, on their journeys”, he said.

In Cláudia, an agreement worth R$2.1 million was signed to pave two kilometers of Estrada Valdinere. Mayor Altamir Kurten explained the importance of the road for the municipality.

“It will allow us to connect Santa Carmem, Cláudia and Nova Santa Helena with BR-163. For our logistics, we will improve 100% the conditions of access to products and services,” he said.

He recalled that, in February this year, Sinfra signed another agreement to pave 25.14 km of Estrada Darlene. “It is very important for the development of our municipality, for the infrastructure to improve, so that we can have cheaper freight and also be attractive for new investments”, he added.

The municipalities of Canarana, Sinop and Tapurah also signed agreements for municipal roads. Other agreements were signed with General Carneiro, Nova Monte Verde, Vale de São Domingos and Novo Santo Antônio for the construction of bridges on municipal roads.
