A 19-year-old motorcyclist died this Saturday morning (27), in an accident on Avenida Lúdio Martins Coelho, in the União neighborhood. According to witnesses, Carlos Eduardo Freitas de Melo lost control of the motorcycle and crashed into a lamp post. This was the second accident that resulted in death in the same location, within 7 days.
The accident happened around 6am, the victim was heading towards the center of the neighborhood when he fell on the bend. With the impact of the collision, Carlos Eduardo’s helmet detached from his head.
Firefighters were called, but the victim was already dead when they arrived. Civil Police were also at the scene and will investigate the circumstances of the crash.
Second accident in a week: Carlos Eduardo died on the same curve where another young man had an accident last Saturday (20).
The 24-year-old motorcyclist also lost control and crashed into a tree. He was rescued, but died in hospital.
