Registration remains open for those who wish to participate in the Alagoas Living Heritage Registration Notice (RPV-AL) 2024, an initiative promoted by the State Government through the State Secretariat for Culture and Creative Economy (Secult). Registration will remain open until May 23, 2024, providing an opportunity for culture makers with knowledge or techniques relevant to the preservation of traditional or popular culture in Alagoas.

Requirements include being Brazilian and residing in Alagoas for more than 20 years, proving participation in cultural activities throughout this period. Furthermore, candidates must be able to transmit knowledge to society and cannot be registered as Masters of Living Heritage in municipalities in Alagoas.

The Secretary of State for Culture and Creative Economy, Mellina Freitas, highlighted the importance of the Notice and the meaning of recognizing these masters as Living Heritage.

“This notice not only celebrates the cultural and traditional richness of Alagoas, but also honors the legacy of these masters who dedicated their lives to preserving and promoting our unique cultural identity,” he said.

Registration can be done in person at the Secult Protocol sector, located at Praça Marechal Floriano Peixoto, S/N, in the Center of Maceió, from Monday to Thursday, from 9am to 4pm, and Friday, from 9am at 2pm, or online through the Single Registry of Alagoan Culture (Cuca), accessible at the address cuca.al.gov.br.

“It is essential that interested parties read the notice and pay attention to the necessary documentation, which includes a CV or portfolio, copies of documents, declarations from recognized entities, bank details and power of attorney in case of registration by third parties. Incomplete entries will be automatically disqualified”, explained the secretary.
