A Rio City Hall is determined to transform the city’s urban landscape through graffiti. With this, the hiring of a company to carry out artistic interventions in an impressive area of ​​175 thousand square meters, equivalent to 24 soccer fields in the country, was completed. Maracanã.

Over the next year, the company Huma will be responsible for coloring walls, walkways and viaducts in various parts of the city, with a total investment of R$33 million. The exact locations have not yet been disclosed, as they will be decided together with municipal departments, aiming for a strategic and equitable distribution of these interventions.

The project joins the urban art corridor already carried out in Brazil Avenuewhich was inaugurated this year in conjunction with the works on the Transbrasil. Along 26 kilometers of the road, graffiti by 131 artists add color and life to the urban landscape. To carry out this transformation, an impressive 30 thousand liters of paint were used. In addition to the expressway, another graffiti panel can be seen on the Porto Binary and in Olympic Boulevardboth in the Port Zone.

It is worth mentioning that graffiti was recently recognized as cultural heritage in Rio de Janeiro, highlighting its importance as an artistic and cultural expression in the city.
