Monitoring the main reservoirs in Rio Grande do Norte, responsible for supplying the municipalities of Rio Grande do Norte, reveals a positive scenario. According to the Report on the Volumes of the Main Reservoirs in RN, released today by the RN Water Management Institute (Igarn), total surface water reserves accumulate 3.37 billion cubic meters, which represents 74.47% of the total capacity of the reservoir. state, estimated at 4.52 billion cubic meters.

Among the highlights, the Santa Cruz do Apodi dam records a volume of 480.37 million cubic meters, corresponding to 80.10% of its total capacity of 599.71 million cubic meters. The Corredor dam, located in Antônio Martins, reached its maximum capacity, with 4.64 million cubic meters.

The Umari dam, in Upanema, is about to bleed, accumulating 288.29 million cubic meters, equivalent to 98.45% of its total capacity of 292.81 million cubic meters. Meanwhile, the Armando Ribeiro Gonçalves reservoir, the largest in RN, has 1.87 billion cubic meters, corresponding to 78.77% of its total capacity of 2.37 billion cubic meters.

Furthermore, several other reservoirs already exceed 90% of their capacity, indicating a positive scenario for the state’s water supply.
