A pileup between five vehicles was recorded on the morning of this Thursday, 25th, on Highway SE-270, in the municipality of Lagarto.
According to the State Highway Police Battalion (BPRv), the team was called, through the Integrated Public Security Operations Center (Ciosp), for an alleged traffic accident. Arriving at the scene, police officers discovered a pileup between five vehicles on the SE-270 highway.
According to the battalion, the first vehicle was heading towards Lagarto/Salgado, when the driver went to stretch and lost attention, colliding into the back of the second vehicle, which was blocked by three others. Following the accident, the driver of the piled-up vehicle was rescued by the Mobile Emergency Care Service (Samu).
Still according to BPRv, the other drivers remained at the scene and carried out the breathalyzer test, which all passed with a result of 0.00mg/l. As there were no irregularities, the vehicles were released upon delivery and the road was opened for circulation.
Despite being released, the driver of the first vehicle committed an infraction for driving without attention or without essential safety precautions, as provided for in Article 169 of the Brazilian Traffic Code (CTB).
