Documentary that addresses the rich traditions of the Boi de Reis Groups in Rio Grande do Norte,
This Friday, 26th, at 7 pm, at Teatro Lauro Monte Filho there will be a premiere of the film “Reizo”, a documentary that addresses the rich traditions of the Boi de Reis Groups in Rio Grande do Norte, it will hold its premiere in Mossoró with free entry.
Produced by Felipe Campos Chaves and directed by Júlio Castro, “Reizo” was born from the urgent need to preserve and celebrate the traditions of the Bois de Reis, an intangible cultural heritage fundamental to local identity.
During the day the film will be shown to students from public schools in Mossoró.
The documentary was sponsored by Neoenergia Cosern, Instituto Neoenergia, Brisanet and the Government of the State of Rio Grande do Norte, through the Câmara Cascudo Law.
Filmed in 2023, the project recorded 13 groups of Boi de Reis from RN and was recently covered by the Paulo Gustavo Law, Ministry of Culture and the Federal Government, allowing the production of accessible versions in Libras, descriptive subtitling and audio description.
