Inmet publishes intense rain warning for 22 cities on the coast of RN

-

The National Institute of Meteorology (Inmet) published a new alert with a risk of intense rain for 22 cities in Rio Grande do Norte. The warning will begin at 9pm this Wednesday (25th) and continue until 10am on Friday (26th), indicating rainfall between 20 and 30 mm/h or up to 50 mm/day.

With a yellow legend, the lowest degree of severity on the Inmet scale, the alert points to a low risk of electricity cuts, falling tree branches, flooding and electrical discharges.

In the guidelines published by the Institute, it is recommended not to take shelter under trees in case of gusts of wind, as there is a slight risk of falling and electrical discharges, and that drivers do not park vehicles close to transmission towers and advertising signs. It is also important to avoid using electronic devices plugged in during this period.

More information should be obtained from the Civil Defense, via telephone 199, and the Fire Department, via telephone 193. The call is free.
