Gabriela Duarte blasts Globo for despising Regina Duarte: ‘It causes unnecessary noise’

In the publication, Gabriela also pointed out that the channel was not obliged to invite her mother to record an unpublished statement, as it also did not do with Vera Fischer, another historical Helena. “Such an attitude, however, constitutes disrespect for the actress, for the history that she and TV built together, for the celebrated author and for the public of the soap operas,” she said.

Regina Duarte’s daughter also considered that her mother’s ideological (and political) activism cannot be considered more important than her contribution to television.

“Disregarding her will not make Helena from História de Amor, Helena from Por Amor and Helena from Páginas da Vida, Simone from Selva de Pedra, Porcina from Roque Santeiro, Maria do Carmo from Rainha da Sucata and so many other characters that touched our emotions and influenced society”, concluded Gabriela Duarte.
