A robbery at a bank branch in the municipality of Guajará, in Amazonas, located 20 kilometers from Cruzeiro do Sul, resulted in the theft of R$650,000 by six men two weeks ago. Four of them were arrested, while the rest continue to be sought by authorities. Of the stolen amount, the police managed to recover only R$14,000.
The Guajará delegate, Adenilson Carlos, revealed that it is a criminal organization established in Rio Branco, also operating in the Vale do Juruá region and in the state of Amazonas. During the robbery at the Sicredi bank branch, they interrupted the means of communication, which hampered the initial investigations, however, they moved forward with the collection of various information.
“Since the night of the crime, the police in Acre and Amazonas have been working to arrest those involved. Images from security cameras facilitated the investigation. Two of the criminals have already been arrested. At first, the bank branch’s own internal circuit cameras contributed to the elucidation, but the elements were all hooded, this also makes the investigation difficult, but does not prevent it”, explained the Guajará delegate.
The Cruzeiro do Sul delegate, Jadson Pereira, praised the cooperation between the police of the two states and highlighted the joint work in arresting some of those involved and identifying the leader of the criminal organization, who is already in custody.
“There was excellent work by the police chief, Adenilson Carlos, who is head of the police station there in the municipality of Guajará, Amazonas, he had cooperation here with the Civil Police of the State of Acre, which resulted in the arrest of some of the individuals who have already been identified and are already arrested. So, this shows that the Civil Police and the entire security system are integrated to help, collaborate in the elucidation of crimes there”, explains the Acre delegate.
The Guajará delegate explains that one of the members, Wendel Darley Fonseca do Nascimento, is on the run, with an open arrest warrant. The investigations advanced significantly, which resulted in the identification and arrest of others involved in the criminal action.
“There is another person, also a resident of Rio Branco, a member of the same organization, who we do not have the qualifications for at this moment, but we have a photograph. This photograph will be passed on to the official press for publicity, so that we can determine the qualifications of this person and also arrest him due to the constitution of a criminal organization and qualified theft”, he concludes.
