Senac Sergipe lays the cornerstone of the new headquarters of the Tobias Barreto unit

The cornerstone of the new headquarters of the Josafá Ribeiro de Almeida Professional Education Center, a unit of Senac Sergipe, was laid on the afternoon of Tuesday, 23rd, in the 25 thousand m² area in Tobias Barreto, which was donated by the local city hall. The land will also house the Sesc Maria de Lourdes Conceição School. Despite the rainy weather, the ceremony brought together local authorities and those from the Fecomércio-Sesc-Senac System.

The president of Sistema Fecomércio, Marcos Andrade, highlighted that the work is the realization of a dream. “I’m from Tobias Barreto and today I’m very happy to lay the foundation stone for two schools: Sesc, named after my mother, and Senac. The two units are to educate and qualify the people of my land, so that they have more job opportunities and can build a better life.”

“This will be an even better unit than the new Senac headquarters in Itabaiana, already considered the most modern in the country. This is because we follow technological developments. I want to thank President Marcos Andrade for giving us the opportunity to participate in this important moment for him, and I am sure that, when it is inaugurated, this Senac will be the most modern in Brazil”, emphasized Senac Regional Director, Marcos Sales.

“Around 76% of young people prepared by Senac manage to enter the job market. This shows that we are doing it right and we are trying to do better and better, with excellence. And all of this was possible, thanks to the union of everyone, Mayor Dilson (from Agripino), the councilors, the directors of Sesc, Aparecida Farias, and Senac, Marcos Sales, together with their teams”, highlighted, emotionally, the president of the Fecomércio-Sesc-Senac system.

For the Regional Director of Sesc, Aparecida Farias, the installation of the cornerstone symbolizes the first step of an undertaking that will transcend pedagogical action and reach hundreds of young people with the implementation of the school as a comprehensive system.

“Our mission is to share knowledge, based on transversal thinking, and thus, project it towards a prosperous future, whether in academic choice or in the job market”, said the director.

The mayor of Tobias Barreto, Adilson de Jesus Santos (Dilson de Agripino), highlighted that the construction of the Sesc comprehensive school and the Senac professional school will be a milestone in the municipality’s history.

“I just have to thank Marcos Andrade and his entire team for their commitment to turning this dream into reality, so that the children of business workers can study and have a full education, including food. It is a milestone for the development of the municipality, for our population”, he said, thanking everyone for their presence.
