“(The PLP) Replaces a multitude of laws that are being repealed and replaced by a tax system that will be one of the most modern in the world,” said the PT member.
Haddad stated that President Lira guaranteed that the PLP will be voted on before the mid-year parliamentary recess.
The minister highlighted that the reform is important so that investments, imports and popular consumer products are exempt from taxes.
“Investments in Brazil will be exempted; imports will be exempted; popular consumption products, whether food or industrialized products, which are consumed by the poorest families will have a better price”, he stated.
The PT member pointed out that “there are those who project an impact on our Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of between 10 and 20%” over time.
