A 32-year-old psychologist has been missing for four days after being involved in a fight when disembarking from a “pick-up” in front of Shopping da Bahia, in Salvador. According to family members, Tiago Leite went to an electronic party on Sunday (21) in the afternoon, in Lamarão do Passé, 57 km from the capital of Bahia, and returned to Salvador at night. After that he was not seen.

Tiago’s sister, Taiane Santos, says that on Monday (22) a woman answered one of the psychologist’s cell phones – he had two – and said that she had the phone because he had not paid for the trip and this was a condition of payment. The woman also told her family member who organized the transport and Tiago allegedly caused confusion at the end of the trip.

“She told me that Tiago said that one of his cell phones had disappeared inside the bus. There was this fight, but she said that he had to pay for the trip and he said that he wasn’t going to pay because those responsible [pelo sumiço do telefone] they had to take care of it. Then she took his objects [celular, corrente e relógio] as security for this value”, he narrates. After that, the woman who was in the round trip also said that she saw Tiago asking for help from a security guard at the mall. After this episode, she said that she never saw him again.

Since then, the family has been looking for a psychologist in different parts of the city. On the afternoon of this Wednesday (24), Taiane went to the Department of Homicide and Personal Protection (DHPP) to register the disappearance.

“He never disappeared like that, without keeping in touch. He has a history of depression, but he never disappeared like that,” he says. “I’m struggling with the answer. I just hope he’s okay”, he says.

The report requested a note from the Civil Police, to obtain more details of the investigation, and is awaiting a response.
