Itinerant Citizenship Program offers services in Rio

This week, the Itinerant Citizenship program from the Special Secretariat for Citizenship will arrive in the West Zone and Center of Rio de Janeiro, offering various services to the population, including support for complaints through Procon Carioca.

Cidadania Itinerante will take place in three different locations between Thursday and Saturday. On Thursday, the service will be available in Recreio dos Bandeirantes, on Friday in Realengo and on Saturday in Gamboa. Each action will be carried out from 10am to 3pm, with services varying depending on the location.

During the event, consumers will be able to register complaints about companies or services. It is necessary to bring copies of personal documents and proof of purchase to register. Companies’ response to complaints is expected within 30 days.

What do you need to know:

  • Locations and dates: Recreio dos Bandeirantes (25/4), Realengo (26/4), Gamboa (27/4).
  • Time: from 10am to 3pm every day.
  • Available services: Procon assistance for registering complaints, free documents and social assistance services.
  • Required documentation: Copy of personal documents and proof of purchase.

Details of Services Offered

Thursday – Recreio dos Bandeirantes

In addition to the Procon service, teams from the Municipal Department of Social Assistance and the Light concessionaire will be present, offering support and additional information.

Friday – Realengo

The Leão XIII Foundation will offer free access to issuing essential documents such as identity cards and various certificates. The teams from Light and Zona Oeste + will also be present.

Saturday – Gamboa

At the Immigrant Reference and Service Center, in addition to regular services, visitors will be able to access information and specific support for immigrants.

Organizers’ Perspective

Leandro Pereira, special secretary for Citizenship, highlighted the importance of the program. “The objective of Cidadania Itinerante is to reach all locations in the municipality. In this way, we were able to make several City Hall services available and speed up the resolution of the population’s many demands”, stated Pereira.
