Psychologist found dead and tied up inside clinic

SÃO PAULO, SP (UOL/FOLHAPRESS) – A psychologist was found dead with marks of violence in her clinic on Tuesday night (23), in Assú (RN).

Fabiana Maia Veras’ body was cut, gagged and tied up. Members of the public found the woman around 6pm in a service room there, in the Dom Elizeu neighborhood.

Security camera videos show the psychologist receiving a man at 4:45 p.m. He appears outside the venue with a cloth on his head, a face mask, wearing a sweatshirt and holding a briefcase. Then he rings the doorbell and is answered by the woman.

The two talk in the garage for a few seconds and enter the establishment. The man stayed at the clinic for about 15 minutes, police said. The psychologist was already at the end of her working day when she received him.

The Civil Police have not yet identified the suspect. The investigation had access to recordings from external cameras and discovered the whereabouts of the alleged perpetrator of the crime.

Friends mourn Fabiana’s death on social media. ”We psychologists also had our lives at risk, they took my friend’s life, perhaps it was an outbreak, perhaps a clash of opinions, disagreement in clinical intervention”, said a friend and professional colleague.
