Bahia does not pay for the nursing floor
Health professionals in Bahia continue to have difficulty receiving the nursing minimum, established in Law No. 14,434/2022. After several demonstrations, they are now trying to be heard through legal actions, according to the president of the category’s union in Bahia, (SEEB), Alessandra Gadelha.
“We catalog all the complaints that arrived on our channels, including those coming through the Public Ministry of Labor (MPT). We created a spreadsheet with all the data, such as: reported fact, company and municipality. We are in contact with the MPT to filter the data and define the conduct”.
Alessandra considers it necessary to try everything possible to collect something that is already defined and guaranteed by law. “The boss, the businessman who owns a clinic, a hospital, a laboratory who wants to pay his workers in accordance with law 14,434, has nothing stopping him from doing so,” she highlights.
The coordinator of the national commission of the Federal Nursing Council (Cofen), Jefferson Caproni, regrets that, both in the public and private networks, there is a lack of commitment from managers and institutions, which still do not make the transfer.
“Health professionals are being devalued, with alleged fraud in changing their nomenclature, making working hours more flexible, reducing their working hours to reduce their salary. And the news of non-payment of the minimum wage is not from distant regions”, she says.
This month, additional resources for paying the nursing minimum for March were made available for consultation. The Ministry of Health published an ordinance regarding the transfer of financial assistance, in accordance with GM/MS Consolidation Ordinance No. 6. With Brazil 61.
