A 33-year-old man was rescued after being hit by a tree branch while harvesting pine nuts in Santa Cecília, in the west of Santa Catarina, on Monday (1st). Firefighters traveled 10 kilometers along a dirt road and followed a 1-kilometer trail on foot to reach the victim.
The case happened in the interior of the city, around 3:30 pm, in a pine plantation. The path was made with the help of farm workers.
The man was hit by a tree trunk, suffering injuries to the left side of his back and leg. Despite being conscious, he was in pain.
The firefighters immobilized the victim and transported him along the trail to an Urgency and Emergency Service (Samu) ambulance. She was later taken to a health unit in Curitibanos, in the same region.
