During the Holy Week period, Operation Safe Travel, coordinated by the Regulatory Agency for Delegated and Contracted Public Services of Amazonas (Arsepam), recorded the flow of 28 thousand people who left Manaus heading to the interior of Amazonas, during the 27th to March 31, through intercity passenger transport.

During five days of intense inspection, the operation recorded a total of 28,976 passengers who used road and water transport services. At the bus station, 13,240 passengers were recorded, distributed among the checkpoints, with emphasis on the Manaus Bus Station, followed by the Ponte Jornalista Phelippe Daou. The most popular destinations for passengers were Rio Preto da Eva and Iranduba.

And in waterway transport, the operation registered a total of 15,736 passengers. The checkpoints at Porto da Ceasa, Porto de Manaus and Manaus Moderna were the busiest on those days. The most popular destinations for passengers were Careiro da Várzea, Parintins, Tefé and Coari.

Operation Safe Travel during Holy Week was essential to ensure that passengers traveled safely and calmly, complying with all rules and regulations established for intercity transport in Amazonas.

“The commitment of the Government of Amazonas, through Arsepam, is to ensure the safety and quality of intercity transport services”, stated the president of Arsepam, Ricardo Lasmar.

Operation Safe Travel was carried out in partnership with the Traffic Policing Battalion (BPTran) of the Amazonas Military Police (PMAM), the State Superintendency of Navigation, Ports and Waterways (SNPH) and the State Department of Traffic of Amazonas (Detran).
