Prado is a city in the south of Bahia; check out the region’s riches

Prado, on Costa das Baleias, Bahia, is a place that enchants for its unique ability to bring a feeling of well-being, transforming the state of mind and providing a deep sense of peace. With a population of around 28 thousand inhabitants, this city in the extreme south of Bahia is a peaceful refuge that stands out for its 84 km of stunning beaches, where rivers meet the sea and cliffs in white and earthy tones frame the scenery, creating an atmosphere of disconnection and contentment.

Unlike busier neighboring destinations, such as Porto Seguro, Prado is an invitation to peace and connection with nature. An exceptional way to explore the beauty of this region is through a tour of the beaches on the city’s north coast. The views begin at Falésias beach, located just 6 km from the center. From the natural viewpoint, it is possible to admire the grandeur of the cliffs in white and earthy tones that stretch along the coast, in a landscape that is also repeated on the neighboring Amendoeiras beach.

Prado is known not only for the beauty of its beaches, but also for its crystal clear, calm and warm waters, making it an ideal destination for trips for two, where couples can enjoy peaceful and relaxing moments amidst nature. In addition to the beaches, the destination offers a variety of tour options, such as the fascinating Abrolhos archipelago, located 70 km from the coast. During the months of July to November, there is the season for seeing humpback whales, which arrive in the region to breed, providing exciting acrobatic shows for lucky visitors.

Another unmissable attraction is the National Discovery Park, where Monte Pascoal is located, the first point of land seen by Pedro Álvares Cabral when approaching the Brazilian coast in 1500. The park offers trails through the exuberant preserved Atlantic Forest, making it possible to Access it through the city of Itamaraju, which is approximately 82.5 km away from Prado.

For adventure and diving lovers, Recifes de Guaratiba is a mandatory stop. During low tide, these coral reefs emerge and form natural pools full of marine life, providing unforgettable experiences, such as seeing sea turtles swimming freely.
