Teacher denounces leak of intimate photos and is fired in the Federal District: ‘I felt inhibited’ – Country

One history teacher from a state school in Valparaíso de Goiás, around the Federal District, reported that she had intimate photos leaked by students after they accessed private folders on her cell phone. The professional was fired from Escola Estadual Dr. Gerson de Faria Pereira and said she felt “violated”. Information is from G1.

“I felt violated, violated. Afterwards, the school management created a letter saying that the students felt embarrassed to attend my classes because they had seen my nude photo. A reversal of who was the victim in the situation”, declared Bruna Flor de Macedo Barcelos.

According to the G1, Bruna lent the device so that the students could take photographs of a school event that would then be used in an educational activity. However, some young people accessed the teacher’s private folders and shared the images with other classmates.

“I worked until the fifth hour normally, without knowing anything, while everyone was already aware of the situation. I only found out at 6 pm, when the director, at the end of the day, called me to a meeting, saying it was just me between her and me. But there were six people in the room. I felt inhibited. And that’s where she told me the fact”, she recalled.

The teacher said she reported the leak of photos to the Civil Police.

Teacher began to be treated at school

In an interview with G1Bruna said that the school management found out about the leak after a coordinator saw several students gathered together and, upon approaching, discovered that they were looking at naked photos of the teacher.

After that, the professional said that she began to be mistreated in the workplace, both by colleagues and management.

Bruna had been hired to work at the institution for at least five years, but her dismissal occurred less than eight months after the contract began.

What did the school claim?

According to G1, the school reported that the internal regulations establish that teachers cannot lend their personal cell phones to students. Furthermore, the institution highlighted that the decision to dismiss was taken in accordance with the Child and Adolescent Statute (ECA), which advocates the full protection of children and their rights. And he also pointed out that he advised the professional to contact the police.

In her own defense, Bruna claimed that the cell phone was borrowed because the school did not have devices that could take footage to record internal events, and that specific one was important, as it was Black Awareness Month. “Asking students to register an activity is giving them autonomy, it has essential value for a free human being and citizen”, argued the teacher.
