“This is a milestone for Roraima, all of this was done with the support of the government with incentives from Aderr [Agência de Defesa Agropecuária de Roraima] to bring peace of mind and help producers in this State”, said Cabral. The parliamentarian recalled that he was part of the commission to create the agency, in 2008, and that the first job was to achieve vaccination for cattle.

Marcelo Cabral highlighted the State’s role in vaccinating livestock from indigenous communities. “The official needle is to vaccinate the indigenous herd and the government provides 100% support, with structure, with technicians. He has played his role by making the official needle.” With certification, Roraima will have more security to export meat to other states and countries.

In addition to Roraima and the Federal District, the following were included on the list: Amapá, Amazonas, Bahia, Espírito Santo, Goiás, Maranhão, Mato Grosso, Mato Grosso do Sul, Minas Gerais, Pará, Piauí, Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, Sergipe and Tocantins.

“Highlight the Antonio Denarium government, six years at the head of the Executive, which encouraged, strengthened and provided the guarantee and instruments for Roraima to become free from foot-and-mouth disease without vaccination”, added the deputy, extending congratulations to the State Parliament that works with a focused look to producers, from small to large.

On the occasion, Marcelo Cabral asked parliament for support so that, in conversation with the federal bench and the governor, they encourage policies to extend debt maturities resulting from losses caused by drought and fires in the region until next year. “This means thinking about the producer, the State. There is no producer who does not want to pay the bills, but who has adequate conditions to pay their debts,” he said.

Ordinance No. 665 of the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (Mapa), recognizing Roraima as an area free of foot-and-mouth disease without vaccination, was published in the Official Gazette of the Union (DOU) and comes into force from May 2 of this year.
