Three cities in the region, Resende, Pinheiral and Volta Redonda, are receiving centers for the Transformando Vidas Project, which offers free gymnastics, dance and functionality classes for people aged 15 and over. In addition to these municipalities, the project was also expanded to Nova Iguaçu, Campo Grande, Rio das Ostras, Sapucaia, Queimados, Mendes and Carmo.

Federal deputy Luiz Lima (PL-RJ), responsible for providing resources for the project, expressed his satisfaction with this significant expansion. “I am very happy to see the Transforming Lives Project reaching new regions and impacting the lives of so many people. It is an honor to be able to contribute to the promotion of health and well-being in our community”, commented the parliamentarian.

Lima, a former Olympic athlete and swimming teacher, reinforced his personal commitment to sport as a social transformer. “With this expansion, through the Transforming Lives Project, we reaffirm our commitment to, in addition to promoting the health and well-being of adults and elderly people throughout the State, seeing sport as a great tool for transformation. Sport, like education, is one of the great pillars of citizen development, and Transformando Vidas is offering this opportunity free of charge, serving people aged 15 and over”, concluded the deputy, reinforcing that the project not only promotes physical activities, but it also strengthens community ties and offers opportunities for personal and social development in different regions of the State and creates jobs.

Deputy Luiz Lima’s chief of staff, Welbert Pedro, responsible for defining the cities that will receive the project, highlighted the commitment to the efficient execution of the project. “We are committed to ensuring that the Transformando Vidas Project is implemented with excellence in each of these cities. We want to offer real opportunities to improve the quality of life for all citizens”, said Welbert Pedro.
