This is because, since the princess received the cancer diagnosis, William canceled most of his royal engagements to be with his wife and children. He resumed some obligations in recent months, but none of them involved travel and the prince’s need to spend the night away from home.
“Obviously, William feels that Kate is recovering now, and he has been very calm about leaving London and being seen in Cornwall,” said Ian Pelham, an expert on royal affairs. The prince visited the county of Cornwall last week to take part in a project aimed at building high-quality homes for homeless people.
William even published photos of the travel on social media. “I’m excited to think that this will be the site of the Duchy of Cornwall’s first Housing Innovation Project,” he wrote. In another post he announced the aim of the project: “In collaboration with St Petrocs, this site will provide 24 high quality temporary homes with full support for local people who are homeless.”
