Madonna’s show this Saturday (May 4, 2024), in Rio de Janeiro, ends her “Celebration Tour”. With 81 presentations in Europe, North America and South America, revenue is estimated at US$ 225 million (around R$ 1.12 million at current prices), according to the Touring Datawhich compiles music tour data.

The singer’s opening show was held in London (United Kingdom) in October 2023. In Europe alone, Madonna’s tour grossed US$77.5 million and sold 429,000 tickets. In addition to the United Kingdom, she also performed in 10 other countries, totaling 27 shows.

Afterwards, the singer took her 40-year career celebration tour to North America. The singer performed 48 shows in the United States and 5 in Mexico. Both in Europe and America, all of the pop diva’s shows were sold out.

In Rio de Janeiro, the city hall expects a audience of 1.5 million people. This will be the only free show on the tour, held on Copacabana beach. Despite being free for fans, the singer will receive a fee of R$17 million for the presentation.

This Saturday (May 4), Mayor Eduardo Paes (PSD-RJ) spoke about the event and told Madonna to prepare for “put on the biggest show of your life”. She is in the capital of Rio de Janeiro since Friday 29th (April 29th).

The show is expected to generate R$293.4 million in Rio’s economy, according to city hall. The value is 29 times higher than the R$10 million invested by the local government to hold the event. The singer is expected to take the stage at 9:45 pm and perform for around two hours.
