The government is studying a budget supplement proposal after vetoing R$5.6 billion in committee amendments. The information was given by the rapporteur of the Budget Guidelines Law (LDO) of 2024, deputy Danilo Forte (União-CE).

“There will be a new meeting on the 8th and the government will present in relation to the resource limits, there is already an idea of supplementing the Annual Budget Law with regard to those R$ 5.6 billion that remained pending between the approved budget proposal in Congress and the vetoes made throughout this year”declared this Monday, 1.

Forte met with the special secretary for Parliamentary Affairs, Valmir Prascidelli, at Palácio do Planalto.

Also according to the parliamentarian, the Congress is expected to meet to analyze presidential vetoes on the budget to take place “around April 11th”.

The defense of supplementation came into force after the Ministry of Planning detailed the blocking of R$2.9 billion from the Budget.

“The government wants to make a counterpart by supplementing mainly those ministries that were left without investment funds. This contingency was simply overcome and what happened was a blockage of 2.9 billion, which is very little compared to the amount of the General Budget”added Danilo Forte.
