Bolsonaro’s campaign used the diva’s music

In 2021, during an interview, Madonna’s communications team vetoed a question about Jair Bolsonaro, highlighting that political issues were out of discussion. However, his critical stance towards the Brazilian government continued to be evident over the years.

Despite the disagreements, in 2022, the former president’s campaign used one of Madonna’s songs, “Hung Up”, on TikTok to promote the construction of a bridge between Brazil and Paraguay.

Madonna is no stranger to political stances, having promised to live in Portugal in the event of Donald Trump’s victory in the 2016 North American elections.

The singer kept her promise, returning to the United States only after the election of Joe Biden.
