Isabel Veloso, with terminal cancer: husband updates situation after ‘threat of heart attack’

Lucas Borbas, husband of Isabel Veloso, used social media this Tuesday (30) to update the influencer’s health status. With terminal cancer, the 17-year-old teenager reported having suffered a “threatened heart attack” on Monday (29)which led the couple to interrupt their honeymoon.

“Isabel is fine! She underwent tests at the cardiologist. On medical recommendation, rest day”, wrote Lucas in Instagram stories.

Soon after, he opened a box of questions. A follower asked: “How do you live with the feeling that you will soon lose her?” The young man replied: “I pretend this will never happen.”

Another asked if he was afraid of “losing her”, and he said: “Too much…”

Diagnosis

Influencer Isabel Veloso, 17, reported on social media that she is facing terminal cancer and has only a few months to live. According to the woman from Paraná, she has Hodgkin’s lymphoma and lives with a 17 centimeter tumor, which takes part of his lung and heart.

When she was 15 years old, Isabel was diagnosed with the disease and underwent a bone marrow transplant, in addition to chemotherapy. She even reported that she had been cured in November 2023. However, three months later, the disease returned.

Before getting married on April 13th, the teenager displayed a medical report to prove her health status to her millions of followers. The young woman was accused of pretending to be sick to raise funds for the ceremony.

The document highlights that the teenager has “Hodgkin’s lymphoma unresponsive to chemotherapy treatment” and that she undergoes “exclusive palliative care”.

Later this month, Isabel told be receiving palliative care with cannabidiol (CBD), a chemical substance from the Cannabis sativa plant. The information came at a time when she said she was able to “walk better”, climb stairs, without feeling so much pain. However, since the weekend, the influencer has faced difficult times due to pain.

Dr. Caio César Ribeiro explained to Itatiaia that “Hodgkin’s Lymphoma is a type of cancer that affects the lymphatic system.” The disease It tends to affect mainly young people, as is the case of Isabel“although it has a second peak of incidence in people over 60 years of age”.

According to the doctor, the disease “corresponds to 0.5% of all types of cancer and usually presents with the growth of lymph nodes in the neck or armpits, these also popularly known as tongues. The disease can also affect the region close to the heart, known as the mediastinum, and can manifest itself with chest pain and fatigue.”

“It is a disease that has cure rates of over 80-90% with treatment”, he revealed. Treatment, according to the doctor, is done with chemotherapy, and in some cases may involve radiotherapy, with an average duration of between two and six months .
