Porsche 911 breaks sales record in Brazil in April

-

The monthly ranking of the National Federation of Motor Vehicle Distribution (Fenabrave) brings surprising data for the month of April. Among the sports models sold in Brazil, the leader is the Porsche 911. Even though it costs more than other competitors on the list, Porsche’s classic sports car managed to outperform even cheaper models.

Last month, the coupe sold 205 units, surpassing the brand’s own options, such as the sports car Boxster and the Panamera, for example. It is worth remembering that, in the case of the Boxster, we are talking about a much cheaper model, since the more affordable 911, in the Carrera version, costs R$ 866,082.

But the numbers leave no doubt. The cheapest of the Porsches sold just 46 units last month, being handily surpassed by its older and more powerful brother. Using other sports cars as a comparison, the BMW M2 sold 32 units, much less than the long-lived 911, for example.

From January 2024 to date, the 911 already has 601 registrations, compared to 266 for the Boxster and 101 for the Cayman, its “coupe” version. This guarantees the brand’s leadership among sports cars, which are not even aware of other options sold in Brazil.

A good example of this is the Ford Mustang. The muscle car in exotic condition in the country sold only four units last month, and 48 in the entire year so far. The model recently received a new generation, and could become popular in the future. Thus, alongside it, there are also two Chevrolet: the Camaro, which still sells some final units (nine of them in April), and the Corvette, which is not officially sold in Brazil, with 10 units.
