The new features of the Toyota Corolla Cross 2025 were presented to customers in Campo Grande, by the Kampai dealership. The automaker resolved controversial aspects of the model such as the parking brake pedal, for example.

Now, the parking brake is electric and activated by a button. Another subtle change was in the look, which incorporates the honeycomb grille into the bumper, as well as new fog lights, LED lights and alloy wheels.

Therefore, the brand’s new SUV is now available for test drives at the Campo Grande dealership.

So, one of the new features that caught our attention was the trunk opening sensor, where all you have to do is hold the key nearby and put your foot under it for the door to open. Furthermore, it is possible to adjust the height of the opening.

Inside, those who are already customers of the SUV will be pleased with the new digital panel, which is 12.3 inches and has three configurable menus.

Furthermore, the SUV also offers progressive electro-assisted steering, automatic digital air conditioning with rear outlet – with Dual Zone and S-Flow system for the XRX, GR-Sport and XRX Hybrid versions -, driver’s seat with six adjustments for height, distance and inclination, in addition to adjustments for backrest and seat inclination in the same three versions above; front passenger seat with manual adjustment for four distance and inclination adjustments.

Motorization

The XRX Hybrid and XRV flex hybrid versions of the New Corolla Cross are equipped with the 1.8L VVT-i 16V Atkinson cycle flex engine, which delivers 101 hp when fueled with ethanol and 98 hp when fueled with gasoline, with 14.5 kgf. m of torque (with ethanol or gasoline). This engine works in conjunction with two electric motors (MG1 and MG2) with 72 hp and 16.6 kgf.m of torque, ensuring quick responses and improved driving.

The flex hybrid version is equipped with the Hybrid Transaxle transmission, which operates through a planetary gearbox, eliminating losses and friction. This type of transmission delivers linear acceleration, simulating gears according to engine demand without wasting energy and contributing to fuel efficiency.

Toyota’s flex hybrids have 30% lower consumption compared to non-electrified versions and emit up to 70% less CO₂ when fueled with ethanol, according to Toyota.

The versions equipped with the 2.0 Dynamic Force Dual VVT-iE 16V DOHC flex engine, which delivers up to 175 hp and 20.8 kgfm of torque, received the implementation of the ORVR (On Board Refueling Vapor Recovery) system. The Direct Shift transmission of these configurations simulates ten gears, combining the smoothness of a conventional CVT transmission with a sensation of direct acceleration, thanks to a mechanical gear that acts when the vehicle starts, improving acceleration in first gear.

According to Inmetro, the hybrid Corolla Cross is capable of driving 14.6 km/l on the highway and 17.7 km/l in the city when fueled with gasoline. With ethanol, the model achieves 10.1 km/l on the highway and 12.5 km/l in the city.
