Predicted for a long time, confirmation of the new Argentine 2008 took a long time. “We held back this communication a little, we were also waiting to see the political and economic scenario in Argentina, but it’s time to launch this new product that was ready”, explained Emanuele Cappellano, President of Stellantis for South America.
The factory in Palomar, Argentina, had already been updated to receive the CMP (Common Modular Platform) modular platform, the same as the 208 also produced at the plant, with an investment of US$320 million, the equivalent of R$1.65 billion.
Named Next Level, the strategic plan includes six pillars: business acceleration; customer experience; Operational Excellence; decarbonization; people and finances.

Among its plans for the production unit, Stellantis wants to expand the range of local suppliers from 38 to around 100, a way to face market fluctuations and increase logistical proximity, reducing costs. The nationalization content may increase, currently it is just below 80%.
The application of the amount includes new products. According to the president, the “R$ 13 billion clearly in platforms, more new cars, new models, some of them are new for the Brazilian market”.
