Jumbo bounces off runway during hard landing and has to go around Los Angeles airport

-

A Boeing 747-8 made a very hard landing and bounced on the runway at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) this Tuesday (23).

The aircraft was landing in California from Frankfurt, but the approach was at a speed above normal and the plane touched the ground abruptly, generating a lot of smoke due to friction and causing the Boeing to return to flying.

The Jumbo touched its wheels to the ground again before the pilots commanded a go-around and then made a new approach to LAX, without any problems during landing. The go-around procedure is part of aviation security measures and is common.

The scene was recorded by the Airline Videos Live channel, which broadcasts live at LAX with narration and commentary, like a sporting event (as can be seen below).
