With the theme “The magic of reading” and the slogan “Far beyond the stories”, Garibaldi is preparing for the 2022 book fair, which will be held from October 4th to 8th at Praça Loureiro da Silva. The program, which runs from Tuesday to Saturday, will include chats with writers, book sales, a magic show, theater, dance, music, graffiti and poetry. The patron of this edition is Clovis Tramontina. All activities are free and open to the community.
The Fair starts on Tuesday, the 4th, and the official opening takes place at 18:30. Then, at 7:30 pm, the public will be able to check out the lecture “Passion, Strength and Courage”, the same name as the biography released, with patron Clovis Tramontina. The activities continue until noon on Saturday, the 8th.
The 2022 Book Fair aims to involve the community around the magic of books and reinforce the important habit of reading. For the Secretary of Tourism and Culture, Ana Pauline Mombach, the event is another way to bring the Garibaldense community closer to cultural actions. “All activities are free and the program is very diversified so that all ages can enjoy the Book Fair 2022”, she highlights.
The Book Fair 2022 is a promotion of the City Hall, through the Municipal Department of Tourism and Culture and the Municipal Public Library Frei Miguel and Sesc/RS. The Municipal Department of Education and the Municipal Council for Cultural Policies (Concult) support the event.
Clovis Tramontina is a courageous man, innovative and passionate about life. Considered one of the country’s most iconic business figures, he showed an aptitude for creative ideas at an early age.
From an early age, he frequented the halls of the company founded by his grandfather, Valentin, 111 years ago. At just eight years old, he created the River futsal team, which later became the Carlos Barbosa Futsal Association (ACBF), became recognized worldwide and granted the city the title of National Futsal Capital.
In 1980, at the age of 25, he brought his business talent to Tramontina. He worked in sales for more than a decade and, at 36, was promoted to president of the venture. At the time, the brand, which was known only in Rio Grande do Sul. Over the years, Clovis made marketing his greatest ally to expand his business and Tramontina became known and admired by millions of Brazilians.
Years later, in 1986, he was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, an autoimmune degenerative disease that compromises the nervous system. The symptoms motivated him even more to expand the multinational. Today, Tramontina is a world power present in more than 120 countries.
In 2021, the businessman released the biography Clovis Tramontina: Paixão Força e Coragem, which brings together memories of his personal and professional trajectory. The work portrays the world view of a man in love with life, who never let himself be shaken by difficulties.
