This afternoon, the US Navy carried out an overflight over Guyana with naval fighters, in a clear message to Nicolás Maduro.

The dictator and president of Venezuela considers Essequibo, a Guyanese territory, to be part of his country, and has already threatened that he would take part of it. Since the threats began, the US has warned Maduro, and finally reached an agreement with Guyana, that if the country is attacked, the Americans would consider it an attack on an ally and would repel it.

The flyover was carried out by F/A-18F Super Hornets fighters, with two seats each, which are on the nuclear aircraft carrier USS George Washington (CVN-73), which is on its way to Brazil as part of its transfer to Japan, where it will be stationed until next year, within the rotation of US Navy teams and assets.

The overflight was carried out over Georgetown and nearby areas, according to the American Embassy in the capital of Guyana.
