An 80-year-old American tourist died during a safari in Zambia, South Africa, after being attacked by an elephant while she was in a truck accompanied by five other people. The case was registered last Saturday (30).

The moment the animal chases the vehicle and attacks the passengers was recorded (watch below). The elephant chased the safari truck for approximately 800 meters into a national park.

In the video you can hear one of the people screaming as the elephant chases the vehicle. The recording stops abruptly after the elephant turns the vehicle upside down.

The way in which the American tourist died has not been confirmed. Another tourist had serious injuries, the other passengers had minor injuries.

It is believed that all of the people in the truck were Americans staying at Lufupa River Camp in Kafue National Park, which is the oldest and second largest safari park in the world.

Local police, the Department of National Parks and Wildlife and other authorities are investigating the case.
