Federal deputy Nikolas Ferreira (PL-MG) published a video on his YouTube channel, this Wednesday (8), strongly criticizing the performance of TV Globo’s journalism in the face of the chaos in Rio Grande do Sul, and extended his indignation to the Lula government (PT). In the recording, irritated, the congressman declared that TV Globo “is a cancer”, classifying it as “stupid, lying media” and vented:
– (…) What Globo and the Lula government are doing at this chaotic moment is stupid – said the deputy, referring to the lack of seriousness of the PT administration and the channel’s commitment to the faithful reporting of the facts, issues he denounced.
The program It’s time, from SBT, aired a report in which they caught trucks transporting donations for those affected by the rains in Rio Grande do Sul being fined upon arriving in the state. The subject circulated a lot on social media in recent days and was classified as fake news by the government of Rio Grande do Sul and by Grupo Globo outlets.
– Do you understand the importance of this here, the internet? Because if it weren’t for the internet, once again, Globo would lie to the whole of Brazil (…) The SBT report demonstrated that the accusation was true – said Nikolas.
The parliamentarian highlighted that, this Wednesday, the governor of Santa Catarina, Jorginho Mello (PL), “also showed that the complaint was true”.
– (…) Paulo Pimenta, minister [da Secretaria de Comunicação Social do Brasil], will you recant? Will Globo retract this? Of course! Because Globo is a cancer!
The congressman emphasized the importance of a free internet, in order to reveal reality to the population.
– (…) If it weren’t for the internet, imagine where we would be. If it depends on the government and this stupid, lying media… (…) But here it is once again proven that Globo is a cancer for our country. It’s a press ploy from the Lula government, and they’re not really worried about people – he said.
And he concluded by vehemently criticizing TV Globo’s journalistic practices and the Lula government.
– (…) I would never stop showing the stupidity that Globo and the Lula government are doing in this chaotic moment.
