Mariana Ximenes returns to Globo prime time as a seductive con artist after 14 years

After playing the villain Gilda in Amor Perfeito (2023), Mariana Ximenes was confirmed in the cast of Globo’s next nine o’clock soap opera, Mania de Você. With this, the actress resumes her partnership with the author João Emanuel Carneiro, with whom she has already worked in hits such as Cobras & Lagartos (2006) and A Favorita (2008). This time, she will give life to the character Isis, a seductive con artist with questionable morals.

Mariana Ximenes is excited about the opportunity to return to prime time. “Receiving this invitation was a huge joy because João Emanuel is a dear friend and one of the Brazilian authors I most admire. With him, I had great and creative experiences, like in Cobras & Lagartos and A Favorita”, she said in conversation with the Play column, from the newspaper O Globo.

With artistic direction by Carlos Araújo, Mania de Você is scheduled to premiere in the second half of this year, succeeding Renascer. “With Carlos Araújo, I gave life to my first villain, in Passione (2010), which was very important for my career. Being in this project with the combination of these two recognized talents and with an attractive and very original character is stimulating”, said Mariana Ximenes.

In the plot, Isis will be married to Henrique, played by Antonio Saboia, and will have a distant relationship with the main core of the plot, formed by Mavi (Chay Suede), Rudá (Nicolas Prattes), Viola (Gabz) and Luna (Agatha Moreira) . Murilo Benício will be the villain of the story, with Adriana Esteves playing a character who will have a mysterious connection with Mavi’s father, played by Ângelo Antônio.

The story of the soap opera that will feature Mariana Ximenes

Scheduled to premiere on September 9, the soap opera Mania de Você will be set on an island in Angra dos Reis, in Rio de Janeiro, where Mavi and his wife, Viola, will live after he gets a job at a large cybersecurity company. In this context, Viola becomes Luna’s best friend, a rich Gastronomy student.

Ten years pass, and Luna faces financial difficulties while Viola rises as a renowned international chef. As a result, Luna seeks help from her old friend, who employs her in her restaurant. However, the protagonist realizes that Viola is living the life she wanted. Thus, between moments of friendship and rivalry, the two come together in a common objective: to destroy Mavi for the injustice caused to Rudá.
