The series adaptation of the popular Bethesda game has been renewed on Prime Video.

It was shaping up to be one of the biggest series of the year and it didn’t disappoint: Falloutthe fiction based on Bethesda’s famous and beloved post-apocalyptic video game, recently debuted in its entirety on the streaming platform Prime Video and the spectators welcomed her with open arms. In just its first week in the catalog, the series produced by Westworld creators Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy is already among the three most watched titles in Amazon history and is also the most watched season globally since The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of power.

Given this scenario, it is no wonder that Prime Video wasted no time in renewing Fallout for a 2nd season, as confirmed by Amazon Studios’ chief executive Jennifer Salke in an official statement, also praising all those who made this possible .

Jonah, Lisa, Geneva and Graham took the world by storm with this wild and innovative series. The franchise has been elevated for fans of this iconic video game, and so far, it appears we have exceeded their expectations while attracting millions of new fans to the franchise

He continued: “We are thrilled to announce Season 2 after just one week and take viewers even deeper into the surreal world of Fallout.”

After the good news and with season 1 now fully available on the streaming platform, check out everything we know about Fallout season 2 below:

Premiere date

Fortunately, Season 2 was ordered quickly, but a lot depends on when filming begins as to whether or not it will be ready to premiere as soon as possible.

The most optimistic scenario would be to have a new season in 2025, but for that to happen, the various stages of development would have to happen quickly and smoothly. So far, no official date has been officially announced.

Backstage team

Fallout Season 2 returns with a returning team: series creators Geneva Robertson-Dworet and Graham Wagner return as showrunners for the new installment, while Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy continue as executive producers.

However, it is not yet known how many episodes will be directed by Nolan, who was behind the camera in the first three episodes of the first part.

Cast

No cast has yet been confirmed for season 2, but it seems likely that Lucy (Ella Purnell), Ghoul/Cooper Howard (Walton Goggins), Hank (Kyle MacLachlan) and Maximus (Aaron Moten) will return for the next season.

Considering that the Season 1 finale also leaves Norm (Moises Arias) trapped in Shelter 31 and seemingly ready to use his father’s cryogenic tube, it seems possible that the Shelters could become part of the story again, even if Season 2 is more focused on in exploring a new setting in New Vegas.

Likewise, the return of Leslie Uggams as Betty and Zach Cherry as Woody seems feasible, although we’ll have to wait for official confirmations.

As for Lee Moldover, Sarita Choudhury’s return remains a question mark, but it’s possible we’ll continue to see her through flashbacks, given her weight in the characters’ pasts.

On the other hand, fans can expect some interesting additions in season 2, but none have been confirmed so far. When that happens, it will be a very interesting clue as to how the story will continue.

What to expect from season 2?

It is now official that there will be a 2nd season, but the end of the first episode already pointed in that direction.

At the moment, no details have been confirmed and the team is still immersed in the scripts, but the 1st season leaves several loose ends that, in addition to leaving the door open for the future of the series, allow us to speculate about the plots that we will see evolve in the second phase .

How everything will change for Lucy now that she has learned of her father’s involvement in Vault-Tec and his search for Hank along with the Ghoul, who wants to know if his family is still alive; how the story will continue in Shelters 31, 32 and 33; and the future of Maximus and the Brotherhood.

What also seems to be clear from the final cliffhanger is that Season 2 will establish a new location: in the final scene, Hank walks in his servo armor towards a large desert city, New Vegas, the setting of the most popular game. from the Bethesda franchise. A clear indication of what Season 2 plans to explore and a definitive clue that it was practically guaranteed from the beginning.

“I think for me the most important thing would be if we did a new location, because I love the fact that each game introduces a new world and you meet different factions when you go to a new place,” showrunner Geneva Robertson-Dworet admitted to ScreenRant ahead of season 2 confirmation.

“But we are very attached to our characters…. the hardest thing about adapting a brilliant game like Fallout, where there are 25 years of great ideas, is how to choose what to put into eight hours when there are thousands of hours of gameplay. At first it’s exciting, and then you get a little irritated by all the things you can’t fit in.”
