Globo announced something new this Thursday (2/5): for the first time, the broadcaster will broadcast the Parintins Festival throughout Brazil. The event, which takes place from June 28th to 30th, will be covered by Rede Amazônica, Multishow, Globoplay and TV Globo, including transmission to the network’s international channels. The festival, celebrated in the city of Parintins, Amazonas, is famous for the duel between the Bois Garantido and Caprichoso and is considered a cultural heritage of the country.
The company decided to take advantage of the interest in the festival brought about by Isabelle Nogueira’s participation in “Big Brother Brasil 24”. Third place and one of the most popular members of the reality show, Isabelle is a cunhã-poranga of Boi Garantido and, during her confinement, she spoke a lot about the party and Amazonian culture, even being nicknamed “Minister of Culture” by rivals.

The festival will be broadcast in full, over the three days, on the aforementioned platforms, with an open signal for non-Globoplay subscribers. Furthermore, TV Globo will prepare a special edition to be shown nationally on July 7th, presenting the best moments of the confrontation between the oxen.
Cultural impact and expectations
Rossy Amoedo, president of Boi Caprichoso, expressed the significance of this milestone for the local community: “Today, Parintins vibrates with this news, which projects our festival to a national and international audience. Despite the logistical difficulties of an island, our people produce a great show, full of art and culture”.
In turn, Fred Góes, president of Boi Garantido, reflected on the high expectations for this year’s presentation: “The expectation of a broadcast on Globo was a dream of the people of Parintinenses, the Amazonians and the people of our region. A population of one enormous ethnic diversity, where cultural transfiguration is also very important. So, expectations for this year’s festival are very high in terms of the quality of our shows.”
