Continuing the recovery of great works of its television drama, the Globe has already defined the return of three old soap operas. The productions should be made available throughout 2024 on Globoplay, through Projeto Resgate.
Among the serials that are about to get a new chance is One More Dream (1985), a plot that features Susana Vieira in the cast and was considered a fiasco in its original exhibition, in addition to Queen of Scrap (1990) and Foot in Jaca (2006).

Queen of Scrap
Considered one of the biggest hits on Globo’s eight o’clock slot in the 1990s, Rainha da Sucata (1990) marked the debut of author Silvio de Abreu on the track. The plot tells the story of the “new rich” Maria do Carmo (Regina Duarte), who became rich selling scrap metal.
Despite having a lot of money, the businesswoman maintained her popular and outgoing manner. However, she dreams of being accepted into São Paulo’s high society and decides to marry playboy Edu Figueiroa (Tony Ramos), with whom she has been in love since her youth.
Belonging to a bankrupt four-hundred-year-old family, Edu accepts the deal. But Maria do Carmo will face the fury of Laurinha Figueiroa (Gloria Menezes), Edu’s stepmother who is secretly in love with him.
Rainha da Sucata will enter Globoplay later this year, but the month has not yet been confirmed.
One More Dream
Daring novel by debut author Daniel Más, Um Sonho a Mais (1985) was notable for featuring Ney Latorraca playing no less than five characters. This is because the protagonist of the plot, Antônio Carlos Volpone, divides himself into four disguises to avoid being recognized by his enemies while investigating a crime for which he was unjustly convicted.
The plot was considered a failure at the time of its release and the author changed: newcomer Daniel Más gave up his chair to Lauro César Muniz, the creator of the script. But even so, the soap opera did not reach the audience that Globo expected.
Um Sonho a Mais is confirmed as one of the next titles in Globoplay’s Projeto Resgate. However, there is still no set date for the reopening.
Foot in Jaca
Carlos Lombardi’s last soap opera on Globo, Pé na Jaca (2006) was not a great success, but it is a soap opera much loved by the public. Fans have been dreaming of reviving the serial for a long time.
The soap opera revolves around Arthur (Murilo Benício), Gui (Juliana Paes), Lance (Marcos Pasquim), Maria Bo (Fernanda Lima) and Elizabeth (Deborah Secco), five childhood friends who meet again years later in Deus Me Livre , a small city in the interior of São Paulo.
The reunion happens when everyone goes through a turning point in their lives and it will change them. While Arthur and Bill begin a romance, Lance and Maria try to overcome past hurts. The vengeful Elizabeth will get up to them.
Pé na Jaca does not have a date for its return on Globoplay, but Erick Brêtas, former director of digital products and paid channels at Globo, guaranteed that it will be this year.
