Globo was hopeful that the remake of Reborn could repeat the success of Pantanal (2022). The previous update of Benedito Ruy Barbosa’s work increased the audience at 9pm and had a wide impact among the public, unlike the current serial.
Given the lower-than-expected result, rumors even arose that the story of José Inocêncio (Marcos Palmeira) would be shortened to make room for Mania de Você (provisional title), the next nine o’clock soap opera. The broadcaster is already focusing its efforts on the new story written by João Emanuel Carneiro, which will have Agatha Moreira as one of the protagonists.
With the cast selected, the new story should start recording in the next few days. The broadcaster’s expectation is that the author will repeat the success of Todas as Flores (2022), a success on Globoplay and TV Globo.
Will Renascer be shortened by Globo?
With an audience ranging between 25 and 28 points, Renascer has not yet reached the dream goal of 30 points on Kantar Ibope Media recorded by Pantanal. To try to improve the soap opera’s performance, Globo’s management has re-edited the chapters and brought forward situations to make the narrative more agile.
Because of this, rumors arose that the soap opera updated by Bruno Luperi could be shortened, as the story is being accelerated. However, to date, there is no confirmation in this regard. Because shortening Renascer would mean bringing forward the replacement Mania de Você, which would be practically unfeasible.
Therefore, barring any last-minute changes, Renascer will not be shortened. The plot should follow the initial planning and end with 197 chapters, remaining on air until September 7th.
Which soap opera will replace Renascer on Globo?
Even if Renascer is not shortened, Globo is beginning to accelerate the production of its replacement, Mania de Você. According to the Notícias da TV portal, preparation for the plot begins this Monday (29).
The soap opera team, headed by author João Emanuel Carneiro and artistic director Carlos Araújo, struggled to finalize the serial’s cast. As most actors now work on fixed-work agreements, negotiations with artists tend to take longer, which makes casting more difficult.
So much so that Nicolas Prattes was announced as the good guy Rudá just a few days before preparation began. The actor no longer has a fixed contract with Globo and his confirmation in the cast took place after long negotiations.
In fact, before Nicolas’ confirmation, the soap opera’s management carried out tests with other actors. Filipe Bragança, Giovanni from Elas por Elas, was listed, but, with the delay in negotiations, the artist ended up ending his participation in a film, leaving him out of the soap opera.
When will the replacement for Renascer premiere on Globo?
The premiere of Mania de Você is scheduled for September 9th. In addition to Nicolas Prattes as the good guy, the soap opera will feature Gabz and Agatha Moreira as the protagonists. Chay Suede completes the main quartet as a villain.
In the plot, Viola (Gabz) and Luna (Agatha Moreira) are two friends who are gastronomy students who end up becoming interested in the same man, Rudá (Nicolas Prattes). However, the boy is unfairly arrested as part of a setup by Mavi (Chay Suede), Viola’s ex-husband. The friends become rivals, but end up coming together to put an end to Mavi.
Mania de Você also features Adriana Esteves, Murilo Benício, Ana Beatriz Nogueira, Angelo Antonio, Thalita Carauta, Pablo Morais and a great cast.
