What happens to Zefa Leonel in No Rancho Fundo?
In this Monday’s episode (29) of No Rancho Fundo, Zefa Leonel will return to Gruta Azul after finding traces of Paraíba tourmaline. After a landslide, Zefa ends up in a cave where she finds an underground lake.
There, the matriarch of the Leonel Limoeiro family will see a blue light and follow the trail, digging into a protuberance she finds in a rocky wall. It is there that she finds the Paraíba tourmaline, becoming very emotional.
Zefa takes the jewel to the family, who are amazed by the blue glow of the stone. However, Aunt Salete (Mariana Lima) will warn everyone that tourmaline can also bring misfortune to the family. Indeed, this happens.
It doesn’t take long for guys like Ariosto (Eduardo Moscovis) and Sabá Bodó (Welder Rodrigues) to grow their eyes and Zefa will need to prove that the Grotto is on the land that belongs to her.
Life changing

They leave the ranch deep in Lasca Fogo and move to the Grand Budapest Hotel, in Lapão da Beirada, where they will go through various trials and expose themselves to various dangers. Tico Leonel (Alexandre Nero), for example, will end up getting involved with people he shouldn’t have and will be taken advantage of for his naivety.
The one who will also put herself in danger is Margaridinha (Heloísa Honein), who ends up being involved by the scoundrel Vespertino (Thardelly Lima). Aldenor (Igor Jansen) will also become the target of opportunists when he gets involved with the girls from Deodora’s (Débora Bloch) cabaret.

In No Rancho Fundo, author Mário Teixeira’s idea is to address the cultural shock experienced by a very simple family, which developed in the face of adverse conditions, when it finds itself exposed to the advantages and disadvantages of life in the big city. The opposition of these values generates countless conflicts.
To promote this transformation, the author included Paraíba tourmaline in the plot. In an interview released by Globo, Mário Teixeira explained why he put the stone in the plot.
“[A turmalina paraíba] It is a highly valued Brazilian stone. About 10 years ago, the last known stone was auctioned for 150 million dollars in the United States. Today it is extinct in Brazil, only remaining in Nigeria and Mozambique. Brazilian stone is more expensive and of higher quality in purity than in other places. I wanted to show what the illegal exploitation of nature causes,” he pointed out.
“The stone will make people change their lives, now they have money. When they get rich they donate part of the money to those who really need it. Because they have this good heart, the family becomes the target of malicious people”, explained the novelist.
